These really remind me of the stairs that used to be at my secondry school !! As a kid I was always knackered by the time I got to Art on the top floor !
Just wish I'd have waited long enough to get someone going up or down...
It would, of course, have changed the picture dramatically (it would have lost its impact as pure pattern) but I would have been interested to see what it gave the image in terms of energy...

Yes! Scool stairs, that was my 1st thought also when I saw this picture.
